Instagram

Instagram is a photo (and now video as well) sharing platform. You can upload photos from your mobile device to the app and share your photos with the world! Instagram allows you to take average photos or videos and edit them with pre-loaded filters to create professional looking images every time.

This social media platform is not only fun to use, but it is also very beneficial to marketers. Rather than list all of the reasons here about why you should be using Instagram for marketing, I invite you to read my blog post on just this topic.

In June of 2013, Instagram launched their video function. This now allows users to take up to 15 seconds of video to share with their audience. Staying true to their platform, they made sure to include pre-loaded filters exclusive to videos. In July, they got smart and added the ability to embed your videos into your website or blog. This video function launched Instagram into a new realm for marketers. You can read more about the importance of the video features in this blog post.

So, now that you’ve decided to use Instagram, I want to share some great tools and apps with you that will make your experience even better.

Statigram – Like any good marketer, you’re going to want to review your stats and measure your engagement. Unfortunately, Instagram doesn’t offer analytics. However, Statigram is a really good site that provides a ton of analysis – and it’s free!

InstaTab – This Facebook app allows you to put an Instagram tab on your Facebook business page. Putting this tab on your page allows your page visitors to view all of your Instagram photos and to “like” them on Facebook, giving you double the exposure for your photos.

Everlapse – This app (available online or on Apple devices) allows you to create a flip book (or slide show) of your 20 most popular photos. And not only is this slide show sharable to social media sites, but you can also embed it into your website or blog for even more marketing exposure.

Printstagram – This website takes your photos and, as the name implies, prints them. You can choose from a variety of printable options including regular photos, photo albums, calendars, stickers and more.
